My Cypress Barn Project / Permaculture Yard
I read the books, now it's time to throw caution to the wind. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover". - Mark Twain ......"Sometimes a journey of a thousands miles ends very very badly"-Unknown

Our Secret Weapon

Above is a Link to My Wife's Pyranese Puppies Website or click the link below the bottom Photo. When we started our little farm we were warned about the critters in the woods that make farming difficult. The two main ones were Coyotees and Deer. I planted about 60 Fruit and Nut Trees, built several raised beds and we now we have 15 Chickens and 6 Guianas that free range. All are doing fine except a small Chestnut tree that is being destroyed by Japanese Beetles. Thanks to the Large Guard Gogs the Coyotes and Deer don't come around. Neither do strangers.
The top picture is Cheyanne and the bottom picture is me with Cheyanne and Kona.

These are my very first mushrooms. They are chicken of the woods. I was trying to keep them moist by letting the bottom inch sit in water under the pea gravel. Then I read that mushrooms don't like waterlogged wood. Got to work on this. I also ordered some shade cloth to put over them. Next mushrooms are Shitake and Pearl Oysters.

Grow Bag Beds
These are my grow bag beds. This is my first year doing this and it seems to be working great. The PVC hoops really help extend the season also.
